He’ Brew Origin Pomegranate $6.49
Despite the novelty of the name - the beer is made by Shmaltz Brewing Co. - He’ Brew is a serious beer, and the addition of heart-healthy pomegranate juice is all about marketing.
But the beer falls into a rather nebulous category, part American strong ale, part imperial amber ale, part barley wine. It's a tad sweet, but the high strength (8 percent alcohol by volume) gives this ale a dry balance.
The mix of six malts and six hops comes together for a deep-flavored brew that has hints of fruit, but you would never guess pomegranate. The hops add essences of pine and grapefruit. And the 22-ounce bottle gives you plenty to share.
Serve this one before or after dinner with cheese and fruit.
He’ Brew Rejewvenator $6.49
Call it the Hebrew Hitter, the Hebrew Hammer or whatever you like. Oi vey this is one helluva an ale. Grab your yarmulke and take the ride. I tried this on a hot steamy night prior to grilling. Such deliciousness.
I am not a big fan of Brown Ales at this time of year. When poured this is one sheine madele! I give big points for appearance here for sure. Not to be let down by smell either but less noticeably major quality when compared.
Deep burgundy color with a yellowish brown head, which shows great retention. Moderate aroma, which hints of chocolate, coffee and dark fruit. Medium bodied, with a slightly creamy texture and a warming, alcoholic feel. Cocoa powder and plum flavors abound, with a moderate cookie-like finish.
Enough with the Yiddish... drink it!
Stone Brewing Company
In 2006, Stone relocated from its original brewery in San Marcos to a new, custom-designed facility in Escondido. The new brewery currently has a capacity of 70,000 US beer barrels per year, with capacity expandable up to 250,000 barrels, and also includes an on-site bottling line. The site is also home to a restaurant, Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens, a 300+ seat restaurant which features interesting architecture, a large outdoor patio and one acre of gardens. The restaurant serves a rotating menu of food -- concentrating on organic, free-range and local ingredients -- and beer from Stone, local San Diego and regional California craft brewers, and other specialty breweries in the United States and abroad. The brewery also houses a "Stone Company Store" where Stone merchandise can be purchased in addition to 2L and 1L growlers which can be filled with Stone's 7 year-round beers and special releases.
On June 2008, Stone Brewing became more eco-friendly when they covered the roof of the brewery with solar panel's, nearly cutting their energy costs in half. The 1,561 roof-mounted solar modules will offset more than 538,000 pounds of carbon emissions over its lifetime, which is equivalent to planting 204 acres of trees.
Arrogant Bastard Ale $6.99
Is an American strong ale. It is marketed by warning potential consumers that they are "not worthy" of such a sophisticated beer, suggesting most people cannot appreciate a beer of such quality and depth. It is a popular beer among craft beer aficionados.
Arrogant Bastard Oaked Age Stout $3.49
To celebrate the first anniversary of Arrogant Bastard Ale in 1998, we unleashed it’s big angry brother,
Double Bastard Ale. Every November since then, the Double Bastard has been released in limited quantities. In 2004 Arrogant Bastard Ale and Double Bastard Ale got a third cohort when we released OAKED Arrogant Bastard Ale in 3 Litre bottles. 2006 marked the third year of OAKED Arrogant Bastard Ale, and a surprise - we crammed, forced, shoved and cajoled the OAKED Arrogant Bastard Ale into itty bitty tiny little 12oz bottles. It did not go willingly. Some Stone peeps got hurt. More emotionally, than physically, but it was definitely both. Well, here we are on our fourth year and we’ve got one more surprise... You’ll be able to get OAKED Arrogant Bastard Ale in sixpacks year ’round starting on August 20th, 2007!
